LOVE

I was traveling recently. I'm lucky, because I get to travel everywhere. Sometimes, the beauty of places is overwhelming. I was in Argentina and I went to Calafate.

I think one of the things I love most about South America, physically, is the Andes. They are spectacular. I come from a very beautiful country - Australia is a country of such perplexity and variance - but it doesn't have mountains of the magnitude of the Andes.

I think this is the first time I've been truly captivated by mountains. They are so consuming. They are perfect. If you look at the Andes, their peaks are always covered in snow, and it comes from water. Everything comes from the water. It's all the same thing. It's all water, and it turns into snow.

In Calafate the water has created this river of ice, this foreboding glacier. If you look at the ice, it absorbs you; it's like a crystal palace. It's incredible. It's blue, it's transparent, it's powerful and it's inspiring. But it's all the same thing. It's all water.
